Visualize your resource usage
We've redesigned the release view in the graphical schedule so that you can quickly see how much capacity you are utilizing, how much you have available and where you are overbooked. View the schedule globally or at the team or member level to see exactly where your resources are being used. See the big picture, including any potential bottlenecks, and adjust your schedule accordingly. Read more....
Sprint planning based in the real world
Have a special project or a long term goal that requires a special sprint length? Flexibly configure your teams' sprints to plan accurately and reflect how they work day-to-day in your plan by adding fixed sprints with defined start and end dates. Simply define the dates and assign a team and all of your other sprints will schedule around your fixed sprints. In addition, you can now easily discover and view which teams are working on what in the "sprints" column in the backlog view. Read more....
Plan according to your schedule
Configure your plan's schedule to your team's real world schedule. Have a 10 hour work day? A 4 day work week? No problem! You can now define a work week and hours that match how your team works. Have company or team specific time off? Set non-working days that are globally reflected across your plan. Read more....

A note from the PM...
We're really excited about the release of JIRA Portfolio 1.9, which contains some of your most commonly requested features such as a better capacity visualization and configurable sprints. In addition to announcing these new features, I wanted to share some thoughts on the bigger picture of where we’re heading.
Now that we’ve launched Portfolio for JIRA Cloud, the next big themes for us are tighter integration with JIRA, specifically with JIRA Agile (currently your top-voted issue). We're dedicated to simplifying the process of getting you up and running quickly and helping you keep your plans up to date. In addition, we're going to give you the ability to more easily scale and share data across plans.
A lot of the work that went into this release is actually a first step towards these ends. To integrate tighter with JIRA Agile, JIRA Portfolio first needs to be able to handle flexible sprint dates. In JIRA Agile, it is possible to flexibly book/overbook sprints, so JIRA Portfolio needs to be able to visualize this information. The integration with JIRA and JIRA Agile that we envision, is a longer journey that we have to take in multiple steps.
I wanted to reassure you that we’re hearing these requests, and that we’re on it. Please keep sending suggestions our way, and vote for tickets - this really helps us focus on what matters most!
-Martin Suntinger, Product Manager, JIRA Portfolio
