Users unable to access the Jira Board or Project

Platform Notice: Cloud - This article applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.

Summary

 Jira users are unable to access the Board and receive an error as below:

"This page is available to Jira users only. Reach out to your administrator to request Jira access."

Environment

Jira Cloud

Cause

This error occurs primarily due to the deactivation of your Jira subscription. To validate this, you can log in to admin.atlassian.com >> Products.

For Jira product you may see a warning sign as shown in the below screenshot which indicates that subscription is deactivated.


Solution

We can perform below checks to resolve the above mentioned error.

  1. Navigate to the Project settings > Permissions - check to see if the user is in a role that has "Browse Project" permission. 
  2. Please check the your Board filter query if it has shared with the people you desired to have access to your Board by navigating to - Board settings > General > Edit filter shares. You can refer to below article for more details.

  3. Also, there is a possibility that the Board might have been deleted
  4. Moreover, kindly validate if the user has the Jira license associated with his account. If not, please refer to the below article which talks about giving Product access to users.

  5. Please check the billing status by navigating to https://my.atlassian.com/products/index. If the payment is done and the product still shows as deactivated, kindly reach out to Support.
