Resolving Individual Email Notifications Despite Grouping Enabled in Jira Cloud

Summary

Customers are receiving individual email notifications for each issue event, even when the 'Group notification emails together' option is enabled in their personal notification settings.

Environment

Jira Cloud

Cause

The batching of notifications does not work when the email format is set to 'Text'. This feature requires the email format to be set to 'HTML' in order to function correctly.

Solution

To resolve this issue and enable batched notifications, follow these steps to change the email format to 'HTML':

  1. Log in to Jira Cloud: Access your Jira Cloud account.

  2. Access Personal Settings:

    • Click on your avatar in the top-right corner.

    • Select Personal settings from the dropdown menu.

  3. Change Email Format:

    • Scroll down to the Email notifications section.

    • Locate the Email format setting.

    • Change the format from 'Text' to 'HTML'.
