Purpose

Upgrade Java when running Fisheye or Crucible as a service.

Solution

  1. Stop the application service.
  2. Edit JVM properties using the correct method based on your version:

    Fisheye/Crucible 3.4.4+

Edit JVM properties using the tool included with the installer. Launch the tool by going to one of:

    • Start > All Programs > Fisheye > Configure Fisheye
    • Start > All Programs > Crucible > Configure Crucible

    Earlier versions:

Edit JVM properties using this tool:

    https://archive.apache.org/dist/commons/daemon/binaries/windows/commons-daemon-1.0.15-bin-windows.zip

To use it, you need to rename prunmgr.exe from the zip file to Atlassian FishEye.exe or Atlassian Crucible.exe depending on which installer you used.

  3. Navigate to the "Java" tab.
  4. Update the "Java Virtual Machine" field to point to the new installation of Java, specifically the jvm.dll file.
  5. Click the "OK" button.
  6. Restart the application service.
