When pasting an image into the editor, the image is not attached correctly

Problem
When you paste an image from the clipboard into the Confluence Editor, the image appears, however the image is not attached correctly. You may notice one or more of the following symptoms:
- When clicking on the image, there are none of the usual controls
- Pasting the image does not cause the "Upload Progress" dialog to appear
- After saving the page, the image does not appear, and is listed as a broken attachment.
Additionally, you may find the following error (or similar) in your browser's Javascript Console:
Unable to get property 'upload' of undefined or null reference
Diagnosis
Check if the Drag and Drop Plugin is disabled:
- Log into Confluence as an Administrator
- Click "Manage Add-ons"
- In the drop down menu, select "System Addons"
- Search for the "Confluence Drag and Drop" plugin
Cause
The Confluence Drag and Drop plugin may have been disabled.
Resolution
Enable the Confluence Drag and Drop Plugin:
- Log into Confluence as an Administrator
- Click "Manage Add-ons"
- In the drop down menu, select "System Addons"
- Search for the "Confluence Drag and Drop" plugin
- Click on the plugin to expand its controls, and click "Enable"
