Symptoms
- There will be no link to 'Plugins' or 'Add-ons' section in the Confluence Admin panel after the upgrade.
- The following stack traces will appear in the logs:

Diagnosis
- You are using the EAR/WAR version of Confluence.
- Your instance is running on Tomcat 5.
- You have upgraded Confluence to either v4.3.5 or v4.3.6
Cause
This issue is caused by a bug in the Universal Plugin Manager that affects the default version of the UPM plugin that is bundled with Confluence 4.3.6 and prevents it working with Tomcat 5.
Resolution
Until the bug referenced above is fixed you will need to Migrate Tomcat to version 6. However, once that bug has been fixed you will be able manually upgrade the UPM to the fixed version of the plugin without upgrading Tomcat.
