Summary of PDF attachments is garbled in a search

Problem
Results of Search show a garbled description for PDF attachments. This happens with a portion of PDF files, not all of them.
Cause
The PDF converter used to generate the file is incompatible with Confluence.
Resolution
Get a PDF converter which is compatible with Confluence, like PDF995.
