Symptoms

When you create a page in Confluence and attach a file, the file cannot be edited in the OS. The following error appears:

"A sharing violation occurred while accessing <filename>"

Just when you save and reload the page is that the file becomes available again to be edited in the OS.

This happens in Windows and when using IE 10 or IE11.

Cause

There is a bug for IE 10 and 11 opened here in Microsoft website.

Resolution

This bug happens only to IE browser. It does not happen in other browsers.

It's recommended to use another browser OR close the page using the attachment in the IE as resolution.
