Symptoms

Log com.atlassian.confluence.security.login.DefaultLoginManager change to INFO after Confluence restart.

Cause

It's an expected behavior, the changes will be in effect only until you next restart Confluence.

Resolution

For permanent settings you need to configure the logging.properties file

  • Shutdown your Confluence
  • Go to <CONFLUENCE-INSTALL>/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/
  • Find log4j.properties and open it in a suitable text editor

  • Find for the following line:
log4j.logger.com.atlassian.confluence.security.login.DefaultLoginManager=INFO
  • Change it to
log4j.logger.com.atlassian.confluence.security.login.DefaultLoginManager=DEBUG
  • Save the editing
  • Restart Confluence
