Summary

The content of a page Overlaps while editing the Confluence page.

Environment

Confluence Data Center 8.5.7

Diagnosis

Verify the behaviour in Safe mode

Replicate using the page's storage format in a new space

  • If the behaviour remains the same, please copy the storage format and create a new page in a different space. Then, check if the issue persists.

Solution

If the behaviour doesn't persist in a different space then please check the Space level customisations for the affected Space where the issue is reproducible.

Space Customisation

If the issue is occurring with pages in a specific space, it may be due to the custom stylesheet applied there. The behaviour of the page can likely be traced back to this stylesheet.

To resolve the issue, please check the custom stylesheet by navigating to Space tools → Look and Feel → Stylesheet.

You can either modify the custom stylesheet specific to the space or disable it altogether.

Known Bug

If the issue is occurring at the Confluence level i.e. across different spaces, please check for any bugs related to inline comments overlapping the text on the page in edit mode, especially when comments are added to text within a table that exceeds the page size.
