Problem

The Confluence Quicknav Gadget displays the value "gadget-quicknav-search" rather than the default value of "Search"

The following appears in the atlassian-confluence.log

Diagnosis

Environment

  • SSL 

Cause

SSL has been configured but Java does not trust the certificate, therefore, the default value of the gadget is unable to be loaded. 

Resolution

Follow the steps in Unable to Connect to SSL Services due to PKIX Path Building Failed to ensure that SSL is properly configured.
