Problem

Some or all content of a page is not rendered but when Editing the page, the content is there and can be editable.

Diagnosis

Viewing the page Storage Format (Options -> View Storage Format) :

<div class="assistive"><span style="color: rgb(51,51,51);">An example text that won't render</span></div>

a "class" is applied to the text.

Cause

The CLASS applied to the text is used by Confluence in a different section and has a .hidden format applied to it, so it's content is not displayed.

The text was probably copied from another rich text page with the class and pasted to Confluence editor. The editor will keep the rich content to display it in the same way it was copied.

Resolution

To remove the style of the text, the content must be pasted without format on another page or section not affected by this problem.

To paste the content without format in Chrome use:

  • Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows
  • Command+Shift+Option+V on Mac
