Symptoms

When viewing the available Bamboo images within 'Image Configurations' the 'Default Image' entries are not present.

Cause

The default images for Bamboo are only available from US East (Northern Virginia).

Workaround

The default images are available as community AMI's, to reproduce these in another AWS Region you can complete the following:

• Login to AWS console

• Find the Community AMI (these cannot be copied across regions)

• Create an AMI based on the community AMI

• Copy across to the desired region

Resolution

• Access 'Bamboo Administration' > 'Elastic Bamboo' > Configuration
• Select 'Edit' and update 'AWS Region' to 'US East (Northern Virginia)'
